When the Door Shuts

Everyone will stand at a crossroad; do I take the left or do I take the right? A good chess player will outwit the other in creating a situation you will certainly be anticipating and become aware of its intention. The scheme is to take out your most valuable pieces during the game. Unfolding events happen between Genesis 13 to 19. The beginning first move has been chosen by Lot. So, Lot chose for himself the whole plan of the Jordan and set out toward the east (Genesis 13:11).

Before we begin our opening move in this chess match up between Abraham and Lot, God’s redemptive plan begins with Abraham, so how does Lot enter the game plan? This game involves a specific game of sequences to the end game. You can break down many of these events throughout scripture.

So, in the opening fist moves God himself will go down to Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 18:16-23). Why does God go down, this is God’s way in expressing his willingness to spare Sodom and Gomorrah. If they continue in their wickedness, then justice and judgment will commence.
